PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: May 1, 2026

1. Introduction

RevParts ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our marketplace platform. Please read this policy carefully.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.

Seller Verification Data: For sellers, we collect business information (legal name, EIN/Tax ID, business address, business type), identity information (date of birth, government-issued ID details, last 4 digits of SSN if provided), and store information (store name, phone, location).

Transaction Data: Purchase history, order details, payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers), and shipping addresses.

Listing Content: Photos, part descriptions, pricing, and vehicle fitment data that sellers upload.

Usage Data: Browser type, IP address, pages visited, and actions taken on the Platform collected via standard server logs and analytics tools.

Communications: Messages sent between buyers and sellers through the Platform's messaging system.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the RevParts marketplace.
  • To verify seller identities and business legitimacy.
  • To process transactions and manage escrow payments.
  • To send transactional emails (order updates, shipping notifications, dispute alerts).
  • To respond to support inquiries and resolve disputes.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations, including tax reporting.
  • To improve the Platform through analytics and user feedback.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

  • With Buyers/Sellers: Basic seller store information (store name, location, phone) is visible to buyers. Buyer shipping addresses are shared with sellers to fulfill orders.
  • Payment Processors: Stripe processes payments and is subject to their own privacy policy.
  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors that help operate the Platform (e.g., email delivery, analytics) under strict confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or government authority.
  • Business Transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive verification data, and access controls limiting who can view sensitive seller information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Seller verification data is retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account at any time; however, transaction records may be retained for legal and tax purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format.
